APPLICATION - HOW TO USE:
Surface Preparation: Concrete/Cementitious Substrates:
All substrates should be dry (maximum 75% RH to BS8203 appendix A 1987) clean,
sound and free of laitance. DPM's should be installed and intact. Mechanical
scarifying, vacuum blasting.
Priming:
FLINTEX PRIMER: With porous substrates, two coats are strongly recommended.
Topcoat Mixing:
Prior to mixing, thoroughly prestir the A & B components to ensure no separation
or settlement remains. Mechanically. A suitable slow speed drill and paddle for
at least 4 minutes until homogeneous. Premix A & B components using a drill and
paddle for a minimum of 2 minutes. Each pack shall be mixed for a consistent
time to minimise the potential for colour variation.
Application:
Ensure primer layer is thoroughly dry (see above). Immediately pour out mixed
material onto prepared, primed substrate. Screed to correct specified thickness
using a straight edged trowel. After application, thoroughly de-aerate the
material by CONTINUALLY rolling with a special spiked roller (up to 45 minutes
after application). Use of spiked shoes is recommended. Pay particular attention
to edge and joint details.
Joints:
Expansion and movement joints must be carried through the topping.
