DESCRIPTION

Flintex NS is a solvent free 100% epoxy based floor coating incorporating washed and kiln dried silica sands to achieve an impervious non-slip finish. It is particularly suited to the food processing industry where water and/or fat residue present slippery conditions for workers. Good falls to wastes are required to facilitate cleaning of these floors.

FLINTEX APPLICATION SPECIFICATION - NS RANGE

Surface Preparation

Substrate to be cleaned, free of grease, oil, dirt, etc. and either mechanically abraded or acid washed @ 0.6 litres of 15% solution per square metre and thoroughly flushed with clean water.

Temperature Fluctuation Cracks and Expansion Joints

Cracks should be converted to "V" shape and filled with a flexible epoxy. Expansion joints should be thoroughly cleaned and filled with a resilient and chemically resistant joint filler.

Primer

Surface to be primed prior to application by means of roller or squeegee using Flintex Primer.

Mixing

FLINTEX consists of three components, resin (part A), hardener (part B), and selected silica sands. Parts A and B must be mechanically mixed for at least one minute prior to incorporation of sands. Product should be spread by trowel to achieve final thickness of not less than 5mm.

Seal Coat

Allow 12 hours cure before applying epoxy seal coat by long nap roller.

Coving

Form 100mm radius coving feathered to 3mm pencil rounds on walls and floors and seal to impervious finish with FLINTEX HT epoxy sealer.

Traffic

Allow 12 hours prior to foot traffic and 24 hours minimum before washing floor. FLINTEX will achieve 70% cure within 24 hours and full cure within 7 days.

Maintenance

As with all surface coatings FLINTEX will give longer and more satisfactory performance if cleaned regularly.

CHEMICAL AND SOLVENT RESISTANCE

Flintex Industrial Flooring has excellent chemical and solvent resistance to spillage and immersion. (60 days immersion).
